A provisional 60-car entry list has been unveiled for the 62nd edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona, which will commence the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season on 27-28 January.

Throughout four categories, a sensational list of drivers has been enlisted for the historical endurance event at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

Amongst the drivers, there are 56 former winners of the Daytona 24 and several Indianapolis 500 winners.

With LMP3 taken out of the IMSA WeatherTech package, GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD continues to add variety within the IMSA multi-class spectacle.

IMSA President John Doonan said: “We could not be prouder to release this preliminary list of participants for the Rolex 24 At Daytona significantly earlier than we ever have before.

“Looking up and down the lineup, we will have a tremendous field of teams, cars and drivers and no shortage of compelling storylines to develop and follow in the next two months as we lead up to the race.

“With such a stacked field, it would be impossible to identify a favorite in any of the four classes.”

GTP will bring 10 top-tier Le Mans Daytona Hybrid competitors to compete for the overall win in the second year for the class’ existence.

Cadillac’s V Series.R will be represented by the #01 Chip Ganassi entry and the #31 Wehrlen Engineering Cadillac, the latter of whom are reigning IMSA champions, and both have yet to announce their fourth ‘Daytona’ drivers.

JDC Miller MotorSports’ #5 Porsche 963 features a slightly different line-up, with the addition of the youngest WEC LMP2 champion Phil Hanson, reigning IMSA LMP2 and WEC GTE-Am champion Ben Keating, as well as the return of Richard Westbrook to the outfit after a year at Cadillac.

Keating will carry out a double-duty role at Daytona, driving as part of United Autosports’ LMP2 effort and his first time in an LMDh.

In the previous DPi era, in 2022, he carried out a double-duty role for JDC Miller at Daytona alongside his PR1 Mathiasen LMP2 role, although this will mark the first time a bronze driver will race in an LMDh car.

Proton Competition will return as the other Porsche customer team, having confirmed Gianmaria Bruni and Neel Jani thus far.

The works Porsche Penske Motorsport cars retain their drivers, bringing on WEC Porsche driver Laurens Vanthoor and IMSA Petit Le Mans rookie Josef Newgarden. The former will assist the #7 Porsche 963 whilst the 2023 Indy 500 winner will drive in the #8.

Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti represent Acura with two ARX-06 machines, having already confirmed the addition of Marcus Ericsson and Jenson Button.

BMW will bring their M Hybrid V8 LMDhs having enlisted BMW works driver Jesse Krohn in the #24, as both cars have yet to confirm their Daytona drivers.

LMP2 hosts 12 entries, two more compared to the 2023 race.

All but one competitor will utilise the Oreca 07 package, as Sean Creech Motorsport is set for their maiden LMP2 season with the Ligier JSP217.

Many of the driver slots in this class are yet to be confirmed, though the announced driver line-ups thus far bring sensational talent.

Lilou Wadoux, who recently got her first taste of a Ferrari 499P Le Mans Hypercar, will drive for AF Corse in the LMP2 class.

United Autosports are represented with two entries, having yet to confirm two drivers in the #22 and their Daytona 24 driver in the #2.

Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports has only confirmed reigning Le Mans LMP2 winner Jakub Smiechowski so far.

AO Racing are set to run LMP2 entry as well as GTD Pro car, with PJ Hyett and Paul-Loup Chatin named so far in the LMP2 effort.

Paul Miller Racing, who ran a record-breaking 2023 title-winning campaign in the GTD class, have made their step into GTD Pro amongst 13 entries at Daytona.

Their champions Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow are retained, bringing on Neil Vahargen and Sheldon van der Linde for the opening race of the new season.

Corvette Racing has already announced their drivers for the IMSA WeatherTech season, and have yet to confirm their Daytona drivers.

Additionally, Iron Lynx’s #19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 will pursue the race with four of their respected factory drivers.

Ford Multimatic Motorsports will debut the new Mustang GT3 at the prestigious race, having announced their full-season drivers already and will announce their Endurance Cup and Daytona drivers in due course.

Pfaff Motorsports will once again take on GTD Pro, albeit in a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO with a quadrant of talented drivers for the opening race.

The sole works representation for Ferrari’s 296 GT3 will be from Risi Competizione, fielding Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and a fourth driver yet to be announced.

For the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3.R, Sebastian Priaulx and DTM driver Laurin Heinrich have been listed thus far.

Finally, GTD brings the largest field at 25 competitors for the Daytona 24.

The #27 Heart of Racing will return with their Aston Martin Vantage GT3 to defend their class-win, featuring Zacharie Robichon, Roman De Angelis, Marco Sorensen and Ian James in their driver line-up.

AWA will take on their first race as a Corvette customer team, fielding two Z06 GT3.R entries for the 2024 IMSA season, and stand as the last, reining LMP3 Daytona 24 winners.

Drivers Anthony Mantella, Nico Varrone, Thomas Merrill and Charlie Eastwood will represent the team’s #17 Corvette, whilst Orey Fidani, Matt Bell, Lars Kern and a soon-to-be announced fourth driver will pilot the #13.

Inception Racing will be the other McLaren in the field as Brendan Iribe, Frederik Schandorff, Ollie Millroy and Tom Gamble are set to take on the Daytona 24 amongst the fierce competition.

WTRAndretti already announced their full-season IMSA drivers, but not their Endurance and Daytona drivers yet.

The #43 Andretti Motorsports is an entry independent from the Wayne Taylor Racing partnership, as their Porsche 911 GT3.R will be driven by Jarett Andretti, Gabby Chaves, Scott Hargrove, and a fourth driver.

Proton Competition will run the new #55 Ford Mustang GT3 as their customer team, and have not confirmed their drivers ahead of the new challenge.

Former F1 world champion Jenson Button will make his debut at the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona for Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti, as well as 2022 Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson.

WTRAndretti has finalised their driver line-ups ahead of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, and the Daytona 24 season opener on 27-28 January.

As confirmed last week, the #40 Acura ARX-06 GTP will be driven by Jordan Taylor, Louis Deletraz and Colton Herta; Button will join the trio for what will be the Briton’s Daytona 24 debut.

The sibling #10 Acura features Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque, and Brendon Hartley for the 2024 season, and the 2022 Indy 500 winner will assist in the team’s efforts.

Button made his debut at the IMSA season finale in October, which saw him drive a Porsche 963 LMDh for JDC Miller MotorSports at the grueling 10-hour Petit Le Mans, finishing fifth with Tijmen van der Helm and Mike Rockenfeller.

Button said: “I am very happy to announce that I’ll be racing with Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in the No. 40 Acura ARX-06 with one of my Le Mans teammates and good pal Jordan Taylor, super speedy Louis Deletraz and Colton Herta whose career in IndyCar I’ve watched with great interest.

“I had my first taste of IMSA last month at Petit Le Mans and loved it.

“I couldn’t be happier to race at Daytona with such a prestigious team that has achieved so much in endurance racing and especially at Daytona.”

“I’m very excited and proud to join the WTRAndretti team for the Daytona 24-hour,” added Ericsson.

“After getting a taste of the race in 2022, I have been eager to get back on the grid for this legendary race.

“It feels fantastic to be racing with one of the best and most successful teams in the sport.

“I’m already counting down the days and I’m looking forward to working with the team and my new teammates.

“It is extra special for me to be racing with Acura, HPD and HRC which I know very well from racing my entire IndyCar career with them. Bring on 2024.”

Button returned to 24-hour endurance racing after a three-year hiatus at the Centenary Le Mans as a competitor in the Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 NASCAR machine.

Ericsson previously made his IMSA debut in 2022 at the Daytona 24 with Chip Ganassi Racing’s Cadillac DPi, and finished sixth.

Team Principal Wayne Taylor added his thoughts to the news.

“Marcus is absolutely the perfect guy for our team because of the way he goes about racing.

“He’s finished in the top 10 something like 30 times in IndyCar, he’s won the Indy 500.

“He has really shown loads of interest by meeting with the team already and he is very dedicated and focused.

“I’m happy to have him, and of course, as he is part of Andretti Global program, so we are lucky to have him.

“Jenson and I have spoken for quite a few years.

“We’ve just never been able to make it happen, but this round we got it to happen.

“He drove for JDC at Petit Le Mans and the relationship that he’s built with Jordan from the Garage 56 program closes the loop on our driver lineups as Jenson will take the last driver slot that’s open.

“The guy is really fast. I mean he is a Formula One World Champion.

“He’s very motivated, my team is very motivated, HPD and Acura are motivated with having him as well as all our sponsors.

“We look forward to working with him.

“He obviously is coming from a different background, but we’ve had Formula One drivers before, and they’ve all done really well,” referring to their previous Daytona 24 winners Fernando Alonso and Kamui Kobayashi.

“I have no question about his ability to do well for us and for himself.

“I’m really excited after three years to finally get Jenson to sign up with us.”

Michael Andretti, CEO of Andretti Global, commented: “I’m very happy with the driver lineups that WTRAndretti will put forth in both the No. 10 and No. 40 Acura ARX-06 GTP cars for Daytona.

“WTRAndretti has a strong history of running at the top level and we’re pushing hard to put together all the pieces to bring home race wins and have two cars contending for the Championship.

“The addition of Marcus and Jenson to an already proven roster of endurance drivers will make for an exciting and competitive 24 hours.”

Iron Lynx has announced a selection of their drivers who will represent them at next year’s 24 Hours of Daytona across three Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 entrants.

The outfit will compete in the Endurance Cup once again in 2024, fielding three Lamborghinis from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opener.

In the GTD Pro #19 Iron Lynx entry, Lamborghini factory drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Jordan Pepper and Andrea Caldarelli will take to the wheel, with the addition of Franck Perera for the Daytona 24.

The yellow #60 entrant will be driven by Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni – who have both driven in three FIA World Endurance Championship seasons with Iron Lynx – as their two teammates will be announced in due course.

Iron Dames will once again take on IMSA for their second season, having recently taken their first World Endurance Championship race win.

Their pink #83 Lamborghini will feature the drivers who achieved the feat in Bahrain: Michelle Gatting, Sarah Bovy and Rahel Frey. A fourth driver for Daytona will be announced at a later date.

Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, Andrea Piccini, said: “We are very excited to return to the United States, as we enjoyed racing in the IMSA Sportscar Championship very much this year.

“There, we found ourselves learning a completely different way of racing with a paddock that made us feel very welcome.

“We are really looking forward to going back to start racing in 2024 with a great race such as the 24 Hours of Daytona with our three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO 2 cars.

“The team will take a short and well-deserved break over December and we will be more than ready to hit the track once again.”

Deborah Mayer, Iron Dames Project Founder, added: “We are very pleased to announce our return to IMSA Endurance Cup and I would like to thank John Doonan and his team for their very warm welcome to this major championship.

“The Iron Dames have consistently shown remarkable passion, determination, and never give up attitude in the competitive world of endurance racing.

“We’ve recently finished our first season in IMSA and it’s a pleasure to be back in 2024.

“We can’t wait to come back to the heartfelt atmosphere and good adrenaline of the American circuits and the enthusiastic support from the American crowds for the Iron Dames.

“We are looking forward to opening the 2024 season at Daytona.”

The Endurance Cup will commence with Daytona in January, the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 16, followed by the Six Hours of the Glen on June 23, the six-hour Battle on the Bricks on September 22, concluded with Petit Le Mans on October 12.

Pfaff Motorsports has confirmed their full-time IMSA WeatherTech drivers Olly Jarvis and Martin Kirchhoefer, James Hinchcliffe at three endurance races and Alexander Rossi at the 24 Hours of Daytona season-opener.

Ahead of the plaid Canadian team’s switch from the Porsche 911 GT3.R to the McLaren 720S GT3 package, they have announced their drivers who will front the #9 Pfaff Motorsports GTD Pro entry next year.

Jarvis will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, having last competed at the 2023 Daytona 24 with the Era Motorsports LMP2 team.

The United Autosports-affiliated driver previously completed a championship title-winning 2022 campaign for Meyer Shank Racing, which began with a Daytona 24 win.

Jarvis said: “I am really excited to be joining Pfaff Motorsports driving a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo

“The opportunity to join a proven championship-winning team and to return to IMSA full-time after winning the championship in 2022 made it an easy decision.

“Whilst it will be my first full season competing in GTD Pro in IMSA, I am relishing the opportunity together with my new teammates to fight for victories and ultimately the championship.

“A huge thanks to everyone at Pfaff Motorsports and McLaren for making this happen.”

The Briton will join Kirchhoefer, a McLaren factory driver since 2021, as full-season drivers.

Kirchhoefer said: “I’m super excited and I really can’t wait to get the season started.

“I’m feeling very honored that I’ll be part of the Pfaff Motorsports family.

“This is a big dream for me coming true and racing in the United States is something I’ve always wanted to do especially after my single-seater career in Europe.

“This year at Daytona was one of the most enjoyable races I’ve ever done – I love the atmosphere, I love the fans, and it’s just such a great environment to be in.

“Every driver I’ve talked to has the same opinion about racing in the States.

“It’s really a big thing for me, and especially being with Pfaff Motorsports because I’ve heard only good things and that it’s one of the best teams.

“I’m super motivated to have an amazing 2024 season.”

Former IndyCar star James Hinchcliffe is set to complement the duo as their endurance driver, for the Daytona 24, 12 Hours of Sebring, and season-ending Petit Le Mans, which leaves a seat open for another driver at the Six Hours of the Glen and the Battle on the Bricks.

During his career in the North American single-seater series, he claimed six race wins and 16 podiums.

His previous IMSA experience resided with four outings, three at the Daytona 24 in 2017, 2015, and 2014. An additional outing took place in a Riley Honda DP at the 2014 Road America 500.

Hinchcliffe said: “Being a proud Canadian, and with Pfaff Motorsports as Canada’s top professional race team, I am absolutely thrilled to partner with them in 2024 for the three long endurance races.

“Since we came up with this concept back in 2021 and as I looked to make a transition from IndyCar, being in this series and with this team has always been part of my goal.

“Being part of this next chapter with McLaren and with their last few years of on-track success, there is a lot of pressure, but a lot of optimism.

“I am grateful to Chris Pfaff and everyone on the team for making this happen.

“Daytona cannot come soon enough.”

Rossi will be the team’s Daytona driver for the opening round on 27-28 January, with an ongoing IndyCar career with McLaren and previous experience in IMSA.

He also accompanied the Konica Minolta DPi effort to win the Daytona 24 in 2021.

Rossi: “I am very excited for the opportunity to compete once again at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“While this year will be a first for me in a GTD Pro car, it is a race that I have come to truly enjoy over the years, and this will be no different.

“I look forward to getting to work with the guys and girls at Pfaff Motorsports, and helping them bring this new McLaren 720S GT3 Evo to the front of the grid.”

Corvette Racing has expanded their factory driver roster after bringing on Daniel Juncadella, Earl Bamber, Charlie Eastwood and Nico Varrone, who will compete in IMSA and/or the WEC in the new Z06 GT3.R.

The quadrant of drivers will join the existing selection, featuring Antonio Garcia, Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and Alexander Sims, who will contest the full 2024 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

Furthermore, the four additional drivers join the group to compete in IMSA or the FIA World Endurance Championship, or both.

Juncadella and Bamber will take part as Endurance Cup drivers within the two-car IMSA GTD Pro effort from Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports.

The former Mercedes-AMG driver will join Garcia and Sims, whilst Bamber will join Milner and Catsburg.

Furthermore, Juncadella and Eastwood will join TF Sport for the British team’s LMGT3 programme with Corvette in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

“As we move into GT3 and customer racing, it is important that we add to our roster of drivers that are available to teams,” said Christie Bagne, Corvette Z06 GT3.R program manager.

“We are excited about the wealth of experience in our Corvette factory lineup. Both GM and our teams will benefit from the learnings from each driver.”

Juncadella, joining Corvette for the IMSA endurance races, said: “I’ve been a witness to what it means to be a Corvette driver in the U.S. That’s means a really big fanbase. That’s pretty exciting, to be honest.

“At every autograph session in IMSA that I’ve been sitting next to the Corvette tent, there is a queue of 100 people waiting to get an autograph from their drivers, and we were just sitting around! That’s very exciting, I have to say, to see the legacy that Corvette Racing has created in the U.S. and to see the amount of awareness about the brand is very exciting. It makes me proud and it feels quite unique to be a Corvette factory driver.”

Bamber, meanwhile, told media: “It’s really exciting to be joining Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports for the long races. I’ve been a part of some big rivalries for many years in IMSA racing. But this organization has won so many races and championships… it’s really impressive.

“When I did my first test at Road America, you could see why they’ve been so successful. I’ve driven the Z06 GT3.R and I think the package is really good. These guys have built fantastic GTLM cars over the years, and I don’t see why the Corvette GT3 should be any different. It’s a well-balanced car already just in its infancy, so I think they will be a formidable force not just in IMSA but also as this program seeks out to go all around the world. I think it will be one of the benchmark cars into the future.”

Nico Varrone said: “First of all, it’s a big honor to be a factory driver for Corvette. It’s also nice to be back in IMSA next season with everyone at AWA.

“These are people that I know from this year and doing the endurance races in LMP3. It was a good year. We won Daytona and had great performances throughout the season. It will be a big challenge with the new car, not only for our team but everyone in the entire Corvette program. But this is also a completely new class for AWA. It will be a challenge but we will be prepared to make the most of it and get some wins with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and have a great season.”

And finally, Eastwood: “This certainly ranks up there for me, joining such a brand like Corvette and an organization like GM. It’s what so many drivers wish for their whole career. It seems to be an amazing place to be, and you can see that because so many drivers stay for so long. I’m really looking forward to that opportunity to learn from the best in the business and push on together to achieve great things for many years to come.”

Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat will return to Vasser Sullivan to defend their IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship GTD Pro title, the team has confirmed.

Hawksworth has raced for Vasser Sullivan since 2019, whereas Barnicoat joined to partner Hawksworth in 2022. They took both their and the team’s first IMSA title in the GTD Pro class, driving the #14 Lexus RC F GT3 in the series, winning two races, at Long Beach and Watkins Glen, along the way.

They will be joined by Indycar driver Kyle Kirkwood for the IMSA Endurance Cup events, of which there will be six next year, starting with the Daytona 24 Hours in January.

The duo also tested the Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar at the FIA World Endurance Championship rookie test earlier this week, with Barnicoat the faster of the two, setting a 1:50.740 in the afternoon session.

“To say I am excited as we look to defend our GTD PRO title in 2024 would be an understatement,” Hawksworth said.

“We have a great foundation and consistency within the Lexus and Vasser Sullivan team which will allow us to keep pushing forward, work on refining our processes and bettering ourselves as we prepare for the challenges we’ll face in 2024.

“I couldn’t ask for better teammates than Ben (Barnicoat) and Kyle (Kirkwood), and to be surrounded by such a talented and dedicated group in the garage and on the pit stand is special.”

Meanwhile, Barnicoat said: “2023 was such a special year, and I’ve never enjoyed my racing as much, and it’s for this reason I’m delighted to continue working with all the incredible staff involved with our program.”

“The GTD PRO class is set to grow next year, which is great for the series and for our Lexus Racing fans who will be watching us and supporting us every step of the way as we take the fight to our rivals. The goal is clear, to defend the title, and I can’t wait to get to business at Daytona.”

Reigning Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America PRO champions, Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli, will drive a Wayne Taylor with Andretti-run Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 in IMSA’s GTD class next year.

Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) with Andretti has confirmed they will run a #45 Lamborghini in the GTD category for the full WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season in 2024.

Marcelli drove in the 2023 season for the #93 Racers Edge Motorsports with WTR GTD entry, fielding an Acura NSX GT3 with teammate Ashton Harrison and Formal as the Endurance Cup driver.

This will be the maiden, independent GTD effort for the WTR and Andretti partnership, in addition to their expansion to a pair of Acura ARX-06 GTPs next year.

The Squadra Corse racing outfit will support the WTRAndretti entry.

Giorgio Sanna, Head of Motorsport at Lamborghini, said. “We are particularly proud to start the GTD program with WTRAndretti. “

“We are cooperating with success with Wayne’s team since few years in our Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, supporting talent drivers like Danny and Kyle in their career, so we are very excited to have these drivers in our Huracán GT3 EVO 2 starting from Daytona.”

Wayne Taylor, Team Principal for Wayne Taylor Racing Andretti, added: “We’re really excited that Lamborghini has come to us and regarded us as a team that is worthy of a factory program.

“Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli will be doing the full season.

“We’ve got a long history with Lamborghini with us running four cars a year in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, so there’s a great relationship already built.

“Like I always said, everything to do with success in motorsport, is to be able to have people you can communicate with and build relationships with, so very excited about that with Lamborghini.”

Formal said: “What can I say. 2024. My dream come true.

“My first full season, endurance, and sprint championship, in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar GTD Championship with WTRAndretti and Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

“My dream come true. So thankful for the opportunity to share the car with my brother, Kyle Marcelli in our fourth year together.

“We have been pushing each other so hard these past four years. We have two Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO Championships.

“Just grateful, thankful, excited, and looking forward to starting the 2024 season with a bang at Daytona and try to get a couple wins this season and hopefully a championship.”

Marcelli concluded: “I couldn’t be more excited to make my full time return to the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship with WTRAndretti.

“It has been three years in the making, first taking an opportunity with WTR to drive the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the PRO Class in 2021, then winning back-to-back Championships in 2022 and 2023.

“It has always been the long-term plan in house to be back at the top level of the sport.

“I know the team has been working so hard to put this together and we are just thrilled that it is happening.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be doing it with Lamborghini. It just seems like an obvious and seamless fit for the team and us.

“To continue to share the cockpit with Danny, we have developed a great relationship on and off the track.

“We complement each other very well and in different ways.

“Excited for the coming season. We will make the most of it.”

Indy NXT Series runner-up Hunter McElrea has signed with the #11 TDS Racing LMP2 team as their Endurance driver, whilst Steven Thomas and Mikkel Jensen remain as full-season drivers.

The New Zealander will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 27-28 next year.

He finished second in the Indycar feeder championship to become vice-champion, as only Christian Rasmussen finished higher than him in the standings.

Charles Milesi, who competed for Alpine in the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, will join McElrea and retained full-season drivers Thomas and Jensen at the Daytona 24 Hours to complete the #11 Oreca 07 crew.

McElrea announced via a statement on Instagram: “Very happy to be joining this mega driver line-up and team.

“I’ve had races like Daytona 24 Hours and Petit Le Mans on my bucket list so I can’t wait.

“Can’t thank these guys enough for the opportunity.

“Going to do everything I can to help Mikkel and Steven get the (Endurance Cup) championship.”

The #11 line-up finished third in the LMP2 Endurance Cup standings after last month’s Petit Le Mans IMSA finale, albeit with Scott Huffaker’s efforts.

Thomas and Jensen won at the Laguna Seca and Indianapolis sprint races last year in the LMP2 class, en route to the pair also finishing third in the overall WeatherTech standings.

An increased field of LMP2 cars will sustain the excitement in the 2024 season, although TDS will only run one Oreca 07 as opposed to two during their maiden 2023 campaign.

Jensen, as a Peugeot Hypercar driver, potentially overlooks a clash between the WEC 6 Hours of Sao Paulo and the IMSA Canadian Tire Motorsport Park round.

For the LMP2 class, their calendar will commence with Daytona, followed by the 12 Hours of Sebring.

After a three-month gap to June, a third-consecutive six-hour Endurance round awaits them at Watkins Glen, before the Chevrolet Grand Prix – at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park – and the Road America sprint races.

The Battle on the Bricks will be a six-hour Endurance Cup round in 2024, before the traditional Petit Le Mans season finale.

Crowdstrike by Algarve Pro Racing has confirmed Colin Braun and George Kurtz as their LMP2 drivers for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

The former Meyer Shank Acura driver has landed a drive in the #04 Crowdstrike Racing by APR Oreca 07-Gibson, partnering with George Kurtz for the full LMP2 season.

After competing earlier this year in the #60 Acura ARX-06 GTP, Braun will continue his IMSA commitments in the LMP2 category.

His most recent and only LMP2 drive was at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, whereby he drove with James Allen and Kurtz to claim 10th in LMP2, which was a win in the Pro-Am sub-category.

Kurtz said: “It has been an epic first year with CrowdStrike by APR with a race win, pole position and a championship-contending team.

“I’m looking forward to our return to the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and building on this year’s solid results.

“Thank you to Stewart Cox and all the team at CrowdStrike by APR for their effort, and I look forward to another season in 2024.”

In the 2023 season, the #04 finished second in the LMP2 standings after the team became strong title contenders against the likes of the #52 PR1 Mathiasen and #11 TDS Racing outfits.

Next year, they will compete in a class of 12 in total, featuring all Oreca 07s apart from Sean Creech Motorsport’s Ligier JS P217.

Stewart Cox, Team Principal, added: “We’re pleased to be moving the CrowdStrike-Algarve Pro Racing partnership forward.

“It’s logical to continue our relationship because we’re all here to win and that’s exactly what we have done, most notably taking the LMP2 Pro-Am victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans while also landing wins, two podium finishes, two pole positions and a fastest lap in our first full season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, to also earn the VP Racing Fuels Front Runner Award for heading the standings midway through the year.

“In fact, we’ve led more laps than anybody – 481 in total – to this point of the IMSA season and I think the way we’ve combined resources will ensure we continue to perform at the highest level.

“There’s no doubting that CrowdStrike Racing by APR has been a big success in a very short time and has already shown it’s one of the teams to beat in the fight for the IMSA title, and it has also been fantastic to see George (Kurtz) improve ten-fold as a driver.

“We’re all very dedicated and our end goal is to win races and championships, and there’s a huge desire to defend our Le Mans victory.”

The team will confirm their Endurance Cup and Daytona drivers in due course.

Crowdstrike Racing by APR’s 2024 IMSA LMP2 campaign will commence at the 24 Hours of Daytona, where they will look to better their result of second in-class from this year.

United Autosports has confirmed Nico Pino as an IMSA Endurance driver for the 2024 WeatherTech SportsCar season, after Alex Quinn’s FIA licence status was uprated from silver to gold.

In light of the FIA driver licence classification changes made almost a month ago, Alex Quinn’s upgrade to a gold status has meant he will not be able to join Ben Keating and Ben Hanley next year in United’s IMSA efforts next year.

It is believed United Autosports appealed against the decision, but it was denied.

Pino, a silver-graded driver, will take Quinn’s former place as a United Autosports IMSA driver for the Endurance Cup rounds.

Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO, said: “Nico has been one of the standout drivers in both the IMSA and ELMS in recent seasons.

“As a young driver with so much success already and the potential to win so much more, we are delighted to have him at United Autosports for our first full season in IMSA next year.”

The Chilean has existing experience in sportscar racing since 2021, when he entered the European Le Mans Series as the youngest driver to do so at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Three ELMS wins followed in 2022, and earlier this year marked his first time behind the wheel of an Oreca 07 LMP2 car, claiming the season-opening 4 Hours of Barcelona race victory.

He also debuted at the Centenary Le Mans in which he took a third-placed finish alongside Duqueine teammates Rene Binder and Neel Jani.

Pino added: “United Autosports, a team with a prestigious history and reputation in motorsport is for sure the best place to progress my career.

“I am confident that alongside Ben Keating and Ben Hanley we can fight consistently for the top positions.

“I can’t wait to start working with the team to prepare the first race of the season, the 24 Hours of Daytona.

“I would like to thank Richard Dean and United Autosports for the opportunity to embrace this project.

“I will put all my effort into supporting this team.”

The 19-year-old has competed in selected IMSA LMP3 outings, having secured two podiums this year — the first of which was at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

The 2024 Endurance Cup season will consist of the Daytona 24 on 27-28 January, followed by the 12 Hours of Sebring on 16 March, and the Six Hours of the Glen on 23 June.

Afterwards, IMSA’s Battle on the Bricks on 22 September, and the annual running of Petit Le Mans on 12 October will conclude the Endurance season.
